How to market a term like ’Enigin scam’
How do you market yourself for terms like Enigin scam or ‘Chocolate cake' in today’s search engine world? Well the answer is a lot less complicated then some internet marketing gurus would have you believe. The basic checklist on what you need to do to ensure your site can be picked up by the crawler bots hasn’t changed too much, but as there are algorithm updates on all the major engines on a fairly regular basis, it behoves a professional to maintain awareness and keep updated on what is and isn’t working.

Relevance to site content is still the watchword when trying to rank highly in the engines. Is your site relevant to the term you want it to be found for? If your site is relevant, well done and give yourself a pat on the back. If it isn’t then you need to start looking at what parts of your site are working and what aren’t. If you’re trying to rank for a term like ‘scam busters' then you need to firstly ensure that the content on your site is relevant to the search. If I typed the term in, would your site appear on the first page of results? If your site appears again, then congratulations on a job well done. If it doesn’t then you need to go back to the drawing board and determine why your site isn’t appearing on the first page.
What are your competitors doing? That’s usually the first question any marketing professional asks irrespective of whether or not they’re trying to do online or offline marketing. It is important to gain an understanding of what position your company is in at the moment. Are you the market leader? If not, who is ahead of you? By looking at your closest competitors and comparing their strategies with yours you can soon find a list of differences in their site and strategy that may be doing them more favours.
Every internet marketing professional must ask ’What are the competitors doing?’
If I typed in ‘Enigin scam' into a search engine I would naturally expect to find a site relevant to that term. If however I typed in just the word ‘scam' I might not expect to see the same data appear. This example shows why you have to be clear on what it is you want people to find you for. Scam is a negative word whereas ‘scam busters' is more positive and most likely more on what a company would like to be found for. By combining one word with another, shows just how different an effect a search term can have on your business and marketing strategy. Muddle things up and you may soon find yourself in serious trouble trying to get any headway in promoting your company above your competitors.
